Seaside State Beach is the epitome of California dreaming with its soft sand, breezy beauty and all around good vibes. This little slice of paradise is located within the larger Cardiff State Beach in Encinitas near San Diego.
The beach is comprised of the sandy strip of land between an area of wetlands and ecological reserve, known as the San Elijo Lagoon. Lining the sand on the other side is the glistening Pacific Ocean. It's light and airy, making it the perfect choice for your San Diego engagement photography session.
Amongst the waves, you’ll find swimmers, floaters and surfers. Incorporate the activity into your photos for a lively feel or talk to your engagement photographer about framing the noise out of the shot for a sense of privacy.
There are so many playful options for a beachy engagement session. Walk through the shallows of the shore, highlight your footprints in the sand and dance like no one’s watching.
The lighting of your session will vary based on time of day. Head out in the morning for soft, diffused light. Or, take advantage of golden hour (one hour before sundown) for a warm, golden glow and stay until sunset to incorporate those sherbet tones illuminating the sky.
