Boathouse Row is a beautiful and historic destination set on the east bank of the Schuylkill River in the heart of Philadelphia.
The row consists of 15 different houses and structures from the 19th century that form the heart of the rowing scene in the city. Nestled in an embankment of trees, the row is a peek into the past right in the heart of downtown, just steps away from the art museum.
Each of the structures provides a unique backdrop for your shoot, with distinctive period architecture and building elements like brick and stone that will add a special touch to your session. The many brightly painted doorways and racks of boats also add pops of color and character.
You’ll also find lovely spots of naturally beautiful scenery in and around the houses, such as lawns of tall green grasses with stone walls and tree-lined paths. At night, you can see the outlines of each of the houses glowing on the shores and reflecting in the water, making a romantic and scenic view.
With their flags fluttering high above them, Boathouse Row is a lively backdrop full of life and history that is an ideal location for Philadelphia engagement photography.
