Indianapolis is the cultural epicenter of Indiana, and it shows in the diversity of engagement photography locations in and around the city. Here are our favorite spots for Indy engagement shoots. Venture out of the city for quaint fun at Apple Works Orchard. Take a journey to the past in the City of Noblesville. Keep it natural in the haunts you know-- either in Downtown Indy or Broad Ripple. At Holliday Park, you can find the beauty of nature within the city limits. Head to Central Library for a shoot that's truly spellbinding. There's no wrong way to go!
06. BROAD RIPPLE
For your engagement photos, you want your photographer to capture you in your natural habitat-- or at least somewhere that feels like your natural habitat. If this sounds like you, then Broad Ripple is your dream location of Indianapolis engagement photography. One of six cultural districts in Indy, Broad Ripple is located six miles north of downtown. The district is full of bars, restaurants, art galleries, and shops. Your photographer can capture the magic as you enjoy the day. If you decide you want a natural setting, that's an option, too! Just take a stroll along White River or head for one of the quiet, residential streets.
For Indianapolis couples who love to be in the heart of the action, nothing beats Downtown Indianapolis for engagement photography. Downtown Indy is the epitome of what the city has to offer, which makes it a fabulous location for your engagement photography. The area has 300 restaurants, 200 shops, tons of parks, historic sites, and other attractions. Each of these spots couple make a lovely backdrop for your engagement photos. Whether you want to wonder down Mass Avenue to check out some public art or stroll around Monument Circle, there's no wrong way to go!
04. HOLLIDAY PARK
We never thought we'd say this, but thanks to Holliday Park, we think you should get your engagement photos "ruined"-- as in you should really consider taking your engagement photos in front of The Ruins at Holliday Park. The Ruins themselves were brought to the park in 1950 when the St. Paul building in New York was torn down to make room for a skyscraper. The beautiful stonework makes a sensation backdrop for engagement photos. While you're at the park, you can also utilize the natural splendor of the surrounding park for your photos!
03. CENTRAL LIBRARY
Calling all aspiring Belles! If you're the type of person who has always had their nose stuck in a book, you are going to swoon over the Central Library for your engagement photos. It's the best spot for bookworms to take their engagement photography in Indianapolis. The red brick exterior is great for some rustic, simple photos. Nothing beats photos in front of shelves and shelves of books! Find a secluded row (or a section that means a lot to you) for some intimate portraits. For grand effect, your photographer can capture you walking down the stone steps into the main reading room. It's such a romantic way to celebrate your "Once Upon a Time" becoming "Happily Ever After."
The City of Noblesville feels like such a blast from the past that it's hard to believe you can get there without a time machine. This vintage-inspired engagement photography location is located just a short drive from Indianapolis. The town, which dates from 1818, has a number of different historic sectors. Take in the sights at Potter's Bridge Park, which is named for the last remaining covered bridge in America. The Catherine Street Historic district is known for its picturesque Queen Anne architecture. Of course, you'll absolutely fall in love with the European-style historic square.
Located just a hop, skip, and a jump from Indianapolis is Apple Works Orchard, the perfect location for your engagement session. This country escape gives you everything you need for a reprieve from the city, plus it makes for a swoon-worthy setting for your engagement photography. There's nothing more picturesque than rows of apple trees, and at Apple Works Orchard, you'll find everything picturesque and apple-related. It's the ideal spot for a couple looking for a quaint and memorable engagement shoot.
