About Me

Hi, I am Darlene, I am based in New York and I've been documenting weddings for 4 years. What I enjoy most about weddings is family. I enjoy seeing families come together to create beautiful memories. My photojournalistic style allows me to tell stories and my artistic eye allows my creativity to reveal the unique beauty of every family. I am a self-taught photographer. I am continuously learning new techniques which keep me fresh and evolve my style. I don't approach my photo sessions with a cookie-cutter philosophy. I get to know each couple and listen to their ideas. I approach each session with a personalized touch to capture their families and the beauty that I see around them. I want to make the process of taking pictures as natural and effortless as possible. My philosophy is very simple - it's all about my subjects and proper lighting.

What is your photography style?

I try to get different angles that can show the story at that moment. I frame it so that little post is needed and a clear story is set. I sometimes overshoot. I like to experiment, time laps, peek-a-boo, dramatic lighting, etc.
