Naturally, when my mother handed me a camera at the age of twelve I was hooked. I loved how I could translate my love of storytelling into my photographs. Weddings quickly became a field of photography I gravitated towards. The ability to get to know my clients, being able to laugh together, and deliver the images that they are looking for on their big day brings me great joy. My mission is to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere on the wedding day so I can capture all the emotions and nuances of the day.
I use a 50/50 mix of a photojournalistic and hands-on directing approach. During the earlier part of the day I am often more hands-on. I like to set up the couple in a pose and say "Just whisper something in her ear to make her laugh" and then I'm able to capture the natural emotion of that moment. Later in the day, I operate in a more photojournalism style, staying just a few feet away from the couple capturing all the candid and intimate moments.
I love to shoot weddings because I consider it a privilege to get to know all about my clients and execute the vision of their big day. Being a creative person, I love to explore new venues and places to find all the great photo spots. Wedding photography constantly inspires me and pushes me to test my limits as a photographer.
