If you have a flair for drama, go for a New Year’s Eve wedding like Allison and Jeff. This Philadelphia couple bucked the soft winter wonderland theme in favor of a stunning black-tie affair that was equally bold and beautiful.
With their ceremony at St. Edmund’s Church and reception at Hyatt at the Bellevue, the ornate architecture of these settings created an epic backdrop for some cinematic shots.
Allison’s bridal look was striking. Her statement-making gown exaggerated a classic silhouette with modern attitude. A long-sleeved bodice of sheer, swirling lace flowed into a larger-than life gown that brought the drama befitting of NYE. And her shoes! Forgoing the expected choice of something blue or traditional ivory, Allison went for a mod, black-and-white caged heel. Fierce.
Their Philadelphia wedding photographer snapped a quick first look with Allison and her dad, which gave us all the feels and reminded us why we love capturing these sentimental moments—dads, moms, maids and fiances included!
Seeing as she’s no shrinking violet on her big day, Allison opted for a stunning and statement-making mix of rich burgundy dahlias, black calla lilies and anemones in her bridal bouquet.
Allison’s bridesmaids exuded classic elegance in long, v-neck satin black dresses. We love the black-on-black look of their luxe fur wraps. The men mirrored their sophistication with black tuxes and bow ties, while Jeff changed into a dapper white tux for the reception. We love a groom that does a reception change!
Amplified by her mile-long veil blowing in the breeze and dramatic train cascading down the steps, Allison and Jeff’s series of outdoor formal portraits are gorgeously grand. A true black tie New Year’s Eve fete, the couple partied into the night with festive hats, confetti and streamers. As midnight marched toward morning, guests gathered for a sparkler sendoff that shined against the brass doors of the venue, lighting the way for this couple that shined all night.
