The royal weddings have always been an extravagant affair, and as the royal wedding of Diana’s youngest draws nearer, we are getting more and more excited to behold all the extraordinary details of the big day. Today, we are taking notes of all the fabulous details that beautified Prince William and Kate Middleton’s gorgeous wedding in 2011, in hopes it’ll inspire you to add that royal feeling to your own wedding.
The Dress:
One of the most important details, Kate’s Grace Kelly-inspired wedding dress, was made of satin, featuring an overlaid lace bodice, long sleeves, and appliqued skirt. Long sleeved wedding dresses are timeless and very much on trend currently, but to us, they’ll always remind us of Kate’s exquisite wedding gown.
The Accessories:
A wedding day is the perfect occasion for every bride (and groom) to feel like royalty, and tiaras and headpieces might be the perfect accessory. Kate’s Cartier scroll tiara was lent to her by the Queen and gave us royal headdress goals. But if Cartier is not an option for you, fret not! Flower crowns can also be a wonderful accessory to bring a princess-y feel to your wedding day look. A long, cathedral veil with blusher is also romantic and royal feeling. Who can forget Kate’s stunning veil?
The Flowers:
Delicate flowers in ivory paired with a bit of greenery made up the Princess’ bouquet. We love all-white or neutral colored bouquets because they look absolutely glamorous and sophisticated, yet elegant and simple!
Family Focus:
Royal weddings include the whole family, especially the little ones, and Prince Harry’s wedding is rumored to have close family and friends in attendance. Don’t forget to focus on your family in your wedding traditions and photos. Baby's breath flower crowns are perfect for the little ladies helping out during the ceremony and reception. And of course, family-focused photos are a must!
The Décor:
Fill the space with romantic details like tapered candles and candelabras, chandeliers, tall, full flower arrangements, and classic colors. The more flowers the better! White and gold wedding cakes look divinely lavish. And if the budget allows, get champagne favors for the guests. Who wouldn’t love such a grand gesture?
