Candice and Dominique’s fairytale-themed wedding was fit for a princess—two, actually. The historic Smithville Inn just outside Philadelphia set a charming scene for their winter soiree, hosted just before Valentines Day. These two lovelies kept things romantic and playful, even nodding to the sweet holiday with hints of light pink here and there.
Candice practically floated in her modern-day princess dress with its full tulle skirt and illusion lace bodice with cap sleeves. Dominique softly contrasted Candice’s look in a pale pink button down and heather grey suit. The couple each carried a bouquet of pale pink roses, embracing tradition in their own way for their LGBTQ wedding. When it was time to head outside for some enchanting shots, Candice topped off her dress with an unexpected accessory—a cozy, pale pink cropped sweater. Love!
Candice and Dominique's first look was pure joy. We love the expression on Dominique's face before the big reveal. It was a magical combo of anticipation coupled with elation—so cute!
The couple’s wedding photographer captured beautiful formal portraits straight out of a storybook, bathed in the glow of golden hour with sculptural trees and twinkling lights all around. They strolled through the quaint town of Historic Smithville with their bridal party, even taking a spin on a gorgeous vintage carousel and venturing down the brick-paved paths of Village Green, with colorful, oldy-timey houses painting an idyllic scene.
We loved that the lace-edged necklines of the bridesmaids’ cornflower blue dresses mimicked the lace detail on Candice’s own bridal dress. Textural beige sweater wraps kept the girls warm and complemented the warmth of Candice’s own baby pink cardigan.
For the reception, Candice changed into a flirty, ruffled mini and Dominique brought a retro vibe in an old-school sailor suit. Their fairytale theme was woven throughout the reception and ceremony details, from the Beauty and the Beast program to the classic Disney table numbers and Cinderella-esque bluebird cake toppers perched alongside their top tier. But what really topped it off for us was their cute wedding hashtag, #hakunamilano. They clearly took this Lion King inspiration to heart because they had no worries.
And they lived happily ever after.
