5 WAYS TO INVITE AUTUMN TO YOUR WEDDING & ENGAGEMENT SESSION

When the leaves are changing and the air is cool, the crispness of the world really ignites your senses. It's our favorite season, the season of pumpkin-spiced deliciousness, sweater weather, and bold, red and orange leaves. Autumn is definitely in the air! So, shouldn’t we take advantage of the season with some Fall photos?

Not just any photos, though! Whether you’re getting ready for your engagement session or you’re planning a Fall wedding, we’re here to inspire you with 5 Fall-spirational tips, trends, and props.

1. Pumpkins

Engagement:
These bright orange gourds make a cute prop for your engagement session. Artfully paint your date on the pumpkin or put your ring on the stem for a sweet photo-op. They add color pops to your photos, too!
Wedding:
For your wedding reception, get creative and use pumpkins as place card holders for a fall twist. You can even have your guests take them home as a party favor! We also love them placed on buffet and dessert tables, as well as mixed in with Fall floral centerpieces.

2. Apples

Engagement:
If you’re looking for a fresh spot for your engagement session, head to your favorite apple orchard for a fun, interactive photo shoot.
Wedding:
Apples add a juicy pop of color and texture to every shot. Place them around your centerpiece or at every place setting at your reception table for an autumnal touch. We especially love them as place cards with guests names tied to the stems.

3. Leaves

Engagement:
Be playful during your engagement session and toss a pile of leaves in the air as your engagement photographer captures the fun. Embrace your inner kid and have fun with it!
Wedding:
So many options! Add leaves to your cake instead of flowers for a seasonal accent, or hand-letter guests names on them in gold or silver ink. Have your wedding photographer use the changing leaves as a vibrant backdrop for your gorgeous portraits.

4. Blankets & Flannels

Engagement:
Not that you need a reason to cozy up to each other, but a warm flannel blanket makes an inviting prop at your engagement photography session. Bundle up in classic plaid or warm neutrals! Blankets and flannels aren't just functional, they add interest, pattern, and texture to your photos.
Wedding:
Instead of gifting your girls the traditional robe, opt for a fun flannel to wear while you all get ready for the big day! Monogram their initials for a special touch. It'll be a gift they'll love and wear long after the day is over.

5. Coffee Cups

Engagement:
Here’s a toasty idea: Write your wedding date on the cup, wrap your hands around it and turn it into a save the date for a double shot of cuteness! Coffee cups are an unexpected prop for engagement sessions, but especially adorable if you met at a coffee shop. Plus, it might be your favorite new mug for many mornings to come.
Wedding:
Small coffee mugs are another creative place card idea, which then turns into a wedding favor! If you’re getting married outside, serve coffee and warm tea during the ceremony to keep guests comfortable, or have a hot beverage bar at the reception, complete with take-home mugs. We love the idea of adding a monogram or personalized graphic.
