Fall in Love with Katie and Andrew’s Romantic Railroad Engagement Session

There is something adorable about a couple who are newly engaged. They have a love-struck glow in them like they have been lit from within-and they can’t wait to shout from the rooftops that they are engaged!

Katie and Andrew’s charming engagement session was around Strasburg Rail Road.

The location is one of the oldest continuously operating railroads in the western hemisphere and also the oldest public utility in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, giving the photoshoot the right sprinkling of old-age charm.

There is something forlorn about the photos taken at railroads, in front of the old train cars in the background and the couple embracing in the platform and near the track signs. Makes you think of a lover going off to the war, long teary love letters and perfumed handkerchief, doesn’t it?  The rustic brick building exterior provides a neutral canvas to match most of the session. Also, platform 9 ¾ sign makes our little Potterhead hearts burst with joy! Nice touch!

Katie looked pretty in a blue wraparound dress with tiny polka dots and tan block heels. Her caramel kissed shoulder-length hair was done in loose curls, giving her hair movement and a fun vibe. Andrew was looking stellar in his sky blue striped button-down and tan chinos and brown shoes. They were a refreshing relief of color in the neutral color palette of the location.

Katie and Andrew brought in an element of fall and a large helping of the spirit of Halloween with the most seasonal prop ever-pumpkins! They got creative by writing out their wedding date in bold numbers. Not only is it a great announcement opportunity for the couple, but it also makes for a cute keepsake! The picnic blanket brought in an element of fun to the party, adding to the cozy picnic setting, bringing the newly-engaged together for some adorable picnicky shots. Being the multitasking prop that it is, the same picnic blanket is later used as a blanket by the couple to wrap themselves up while they enjoy their warm beverage out of their bride and groom tumblers, as the photographer captured some cozy portraits. The tall cornfield gave us that fall, midwestern vibes and was the perfect country-cute setting for another great photo opportunity.

The love in the air, the nip in the breeze,  the romantic old-world setting, the lush green grounds and cozy couple who are head over boots in love makes this photo session fool-proof, because really, how can it go wrong? As expected, the photos perfectly encapsulated the fall vibes and the celebratory couple!
