Spring soirées and beachy bashes don’t always have to be your go-to when planning a wedding. Cool weather and starry nights have all the makings of a romantic wedding!
But before you plan your own winter wonderland, warm up by taking these cold weather tips to heart:
1. Plan For Indoor Wedding Photos
Smiling in the chilly air will be just fine for a little while, but you probably won’t want to be outside for too long. Scout out your venue ahead of time for a couple of indoor locations. Your wedding party (and photographer!) will thank you.
2. Find a Dress With Sleeves
Why not be on-trend and comfortable? To look and feel seasonally appropriate, opt for a wedding dress with, illusion lace sleeves. After all, long-sleeved wedding dresses are the new strapless!
3. Bundle Up
Let’s be real: The best part of winter is the cozy accessories you get to wear every day - and your wedding is no exception. Wrap yourself in stylish outerwear like a fur shawl or leather jacket. These warm-weather garments will make a nice gift for your bridal party, too!
4. Keep Guests Comfy
If you’re having an outdoor ceremony, remember to consider your guests’ comfort level. Place a basket of cozy blankets on either side of the aisle for guests to grab as they take their seats. Or, drape the blankets over chairs for a charming touch. Either way, it makes for a cute keepsake!
5. Incorporate a DIY Hot Chocolate Bar
Another way to keep your guests cozy is to offer up a warm drink! Incorporate a build-your-own hot chocolate bar or warm apple cider bar into your wedding-day details. This tasty treat could be sipped on during the ceremony or served during cocktail hour.
6. Follow the Sun
Plan your outdoor photos strategically and build your wedding photography timeline around the sun. Since the sun sets early during fall and winter, consider doing a first look then snapping the rest of your wedding photos before the ceremony.
