5 Tips & Tricks for the Perfect Engagement Shoot!

1. PLACES WITH A PURPOSE:

Shooting your session in a location that's meaningful to the two of you will make your photos all the more special. It's the perfect way to share a special, romantic part of your relationship with the world.

2. PUT YOUR INTERESTS TO USE:

Do you and your sweetheart share a love for wine tasting? Are you die-hard hockey fans? Whatever your common bond may be, use those hobbies and interests to your advantage in your engagement session -- the end result will be creative, while still reflecting who you are as a pair.

3. VENTURE OFF THE BEATEN PATH:

Believe it or not, some of the most creative photos are those captured in spots you wouldn't expect. So, don't be afraid to explore and embrace your adventurous side when scouting photo locations.

4. A NEW TWIST TO AN OLD IDEA:

If you're hoping to use your e-session as an opportunity to create your save-the-date, try putting a unique spin on the idea. Tying the knot in the fall? Toss the cardboard signs to the side and paint your date on mini pumpkins or matching coffee cups.

5. STEP OUTSIDE OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE:

It's normal to feel shy or uneasy when you're in front of the camera. Since this session is gearing you up for the main event, why not throw caution to the wind and step outside of your comfort zone? For instance, if you and your fiancé love old movies, coordinate a vintage-inspired engagement session, complete with period attire and props!

Are those mental wheels turning? Good! Take these tips to heart, and you're sure to rock your session. Have fun!
